Once again, we are on the treadmill towards another possible lockdown which will be lifted and then reimposed when another variant emerges. Increasingly it is clear that Covid 19 had revealed fault lines in society that are now cracking wide open and allowing the state to impose control and restrictions on our lives that in other circumstances would have journalists, commentators, writers and some politicians asking hard questions of the authorities.
The vaccines do not prevent the transmission of the virus, if they had we would not be in the position we are in now. Thus, there can be no justification for systems as divisive and corrosive to freedom as vaccine passports or lockdowns and exclusion of the unvaccinated. If we were truly following the science, we would be removing these systems not herding society deeper into them.
We are in danger of allowing ourselves to be herded into tyranny for our “own good”. Do we really wish for such a future? Who will speak for our freedoms that we have so carelessly allowed to be taken away?
